This is my progress since January New Moon..I am still really enjoying stitching on Elemental Cosmos, I am thinking about switching projects for a little while after I finish this section. I want to start my fractal and see what that's like as I have never done a fractal yet or an Artecy design.

I finished the center of my Elemental Cosmos last night so thought I'd take a quick pic to post before I got busy with more of it today. It seems to be stitching up fairly fast right now am really enjoying it.

This design is Elemental Cosmos by Witches Stitches. I didn't really get much done so far. Had a few days where I just didn't feel like stitching. Had started this back last year I believe and was doing it on black but it had really started to hurt my eyes so decided to restart it on a mucgh lighter fabric so far am liking it.

I have finally finished my 2010 EMS SAL. So very happy to have it done after 2 years. It's going to be a gift for my mom on Christmas. Can't wait for her to have it framed and hung in her house.

This first picture is where I currently am on this project.

This second picture is to mostly show the newest update to this SAL. The border of the little squares is done with Delica beads. I really started to enjoy the beading when I realized I could use a thinner embroidery needle instead of the beading needle I started with which kept poking me and breaking the wire threader lol.

Big Mistake

I didn't realize till I had gotten to the Alphabet on this design that I had started way to low on my fabric to complete the entire design so have decided to wait for the next segment which will be the initials and put those in and do the border and call this one finished..Was so disappointed in myself at first but also really excited to start this design over in another color and see the whole thing finished.

I have been stitching a little bit lately..so thought I would post with a new pic of what I have been working on. This is the newest SAL from Periphaeria Designs..I am really enjoying it..so much in fact that I am planning on stitching it in 4 different colors..and using them as a sort of wedding sampler.

Also it didn't help that I really got into the show Pretty Little Liars and kept putting my stitching down to watch it..I'm hoping to have at least the blue flower finished by this time next week..

This first pic is a new start..it is Elemental Cosmos by Witches Stitches..I have absolutely fallen in love with this cept that the black is so hard to stitch on and strains my eyes so I mostly try to work on it in the day.

This 2nd pic is what Elemental Cosmos will look like when finished.

The 3rd pic is the square I am working on now for the EMS Flower of the Month SAL.

I'm sorry I have been gone so long..life kind of got in the way and was not doing much stitching..I had gall bladder surgery in July..then a week later one of my best friends died very suddenly and unexpectedly and a few weeks later I got engaged!! Im going to try to post at least once a week I;m hoping this will keep me more on track with my stitching progress through this new year.

I know it has been quite a while since I have updated my blog I really have not been doing too much stitching in the past few months and esp the last 2 weeks since my boyfriend moved out to Cali..but this is the little bit of progress I have made on both the EMS SAL and Cirque Des Cercles. Hopefully will have new progress pics on both sooner rather than later.

Hmm not sure what to write not been in too much of a stitching mood as of late. But I did finish my March square so I am pretty happy with that especially to have that annoying back stitch done lol. Not sure what I want to work on now..preferably something bright, might help my mood a little bit or least I hope so.

This is my latest progress..gotten quite a bit done besides a pretty large Halloween party that took about 12 hrs to decorate for and 10 minutes to take down lol. Also been pretty sick..lost my voice for about 4 days..it's back now but still doesn't sound quite right. I still cannot believe how quick I am going on this pattern. Maybe a finish by the end of the year? If so will have to start one of the other 2 in this set.

TUSAL and Cercles

This first pic is my very first update to the TUSAL. Most of the threads there are from my Cirque Des Cercles and Patchwork Sampler which is temporarily on hold. I just cannot get into stitching with lots of black right now.

I am so close to finishing page one!. Only been working on this for a little over a month. Lots of progress for me in that amount of time usually a very slow stitcher. I go to work on something else and can't because it has completely captured my attention.

Here is my little bit of progress I didn't get nearly as much done as I had hoped to. But I kept ripping out the pink and still wasnt happy with it lol but finally I found one. Then today I went to get more of the orange I am using and somehow in my head I had 970 instead of the 740 that I am using lol..wouldnt be so bad if the place didnt charge .60 a skein..oh well Im sure i can use the 970 on something else =)

This still seems to be going pretty fast considering all the counting and recounting..then ripping out because I thought I had made a mistake only to figure out that I had been looking at the wrong area lol. Still loving this tho and having a hard time putting it down. I am joining a weekend SAL to hopefully get even more done so may have a new progress pic on monday.

Cirque Des Cercles update

Well I had planned on only stitching on Cirque Des Cercles for one week only for going back to the Patchwork Sampler..but I have not yet been able to put it down lol so I guess I keep going till i'm bored with it. I am not sure if that will happen tho as I love the coloring and how every design is unique such fun to do :)

The first picture is just to give everyone an idea of the colors I am using on Cirque Des Cercles. I plan on doing all 3 patterns in the series using these colors. All will be on fiddlers cloth..and each pattern will be using different shades...light, medium and dark.

This second photo is the little bit of a start on Cirque Des Cercles so far. Loving the purple..have decided to make a rotation between this and the Patchwork Sampler..working on it alternating weeks instead of just the weekend.

Haven't posted about Patchwork Sampler in a while so this is the latest picture..will start up on it again next monday..till then tho I am back off to Cirque Des Cercles for the rest of the evening.

New Project

Decided today to start a new weekend project so dug out my Cirque Des Cercles pattern by InkCircles. No picture progress yet as I only just finished getting my threads figured out and the fabric ready..so for right now I am working on 3 projects...a crocheted lap blanket, Patchwork Sampler and Cirque Des Circles. Hoping to have some progress pictures of all 3 sometime this week =)

New Craft

I know it's been over a month since I have posted here the main reason being I have been taking a break from stitching to learn how to crochet. I tried doing this years ago but couldn't get the hang of it..part of the reason might be that I am left handed and may not have been ready to learn how to do it then. This time tho within 10 minutes I was making a chain and within another 10 or so I was learning how to make rows..this picture is the beginning of a blanket I am making for my kitten..figured it would be nice for her since she has short hair and also be an easy first project. Got enthusiastic a few weeks ago also and started on a lap blanket for my grandmother who is 101 and in a nursing home. Hope to have some progress pics of that or my stitching soon.

The pink block is all done cept for the backstitching. So far this really is my favorite block.

Misty was laying by the stitching till she saw the camera and just had to start coming towards it because it has a cord hanging lol.

Somehow the pics got out of order lol but I guess that is ok...This is my new kitten Misty that has been keeping me away from posting and stitching as much as I would like to with all of her energy. Will have to try and post more often now that she is more used to the place and me. Today I finished off the 3rd block and started on the diamond shapes on the bottom row. May need to click on the pic to see them really well as the yellow isn't appearing as bright as I would like it to lol.

No pictures this time but I have all of the Orange square at the end done except for the backstitching and have started on the border for the row beneath but it is going very slowly right now. I can't use my frame because the fabric is too short at the ends..should be enough there for framing tho just barely and if not maybe i can sew some fabric onto the edges that won't show up to anchor the framing a little better really not sure.

I think I spent more time watching movies this weekend then I did stitching, didn't help that my dog was very playful during the weekend..would hardly leave me or my stitching alone lol. I'm glad the purple square is done cept for the backstitching which I plan to start today. Also got the pink diamonds done, for some reason they looked offcenter the whole time I was stitching the lighter pink center. I think tho it is the color that does it because the green never felt that way lol.

First Block Finished

This block went so fast and I have absolutely enjoyed stitching it. Have already receieved many compliments by people from my apartment complex. Will be starting the 2nd block a little bit later this evening. My silly dog Kaylee is a complete camera hound and had to get up there and lay down just before I snapped the picture lol.

I started this project the same night that I finished BoINK. It is the Patchwork Sampler SAL from Catia Dias at Catia Crafts. I am really enjoying stitching this other than the part that I already had to rip out and put back in because I was off by 1 square. Why does it seem like it takes 5 minutes to rip something out but another 30 minutes to put it back in lol.

I got a little bored with all of the Blues and Purples in BoINK..so I decided to pick up my Harley Davidson again..I love it but the Oranges are so close in color some of them that it drives my eyes batty..but still loving watching the wings from the eagle form..hoping to get a few more rows done before I pick up BoInk again.

Finally have a picture of my Grandma's Mothers Day present. I love how it looks in the black framing that I chose but had my parents frame for me.

Well I finished my Grandma's present but forgot to take a picture of it so will do that soon...but I have been working on the Ink Circles Mystery Stitch A Long..I worked on it so much today my shoulder aches..I really need to get a bigger scroll frame to fit the fabric rather than the hoop but I forgot to get a dowel the other day. Hopefully soon I can work on it even faster. This pic is my latest of what I have done so far.

I know it has been quite a while since I have posted anything besides the weekly SBQ so I decided to show off some stitching that I have been doing lately...the first one is a present for my grandma for Mothers Day...I'm not sure of the actual title of the sampler but the saying that will be on it fits her very well. It will say..Grandma's are just antique little girls.

The next picture was taken about a week ago showing that I just started the Ink Circles BAP SAL...it's my first SAL and I am really enoying seeing everyones colors..on the left side of the picture there is a skein of thread that is cut off
:( but it is black..the rest of the colors are pretty true to what I chose :)

This last picture is of the progress I have made so far..unfortunately I am going to have to set it aside for a little while and work more on the Mother's Day project as I am a slow stitcher and am afraid I won't get it done in time if I continue working on both :(

I print the pattern. I think I would have a lot harder time following the pattern if I wasnt able to mark off what I had done.

Harley Davidson Flaming Eagle

This is a project I started last year..was using only 2 strands but the black didn't cover well enough so ended up ripping out what I had done and using 3 strands instead for all colors. The image unfortunately doesn't show how vibrant the colours in this are. I'm actually starting to enjoy working on this more as I'm starting to see the wings of the eagle form.

I either have music or tv on while stitching. I tend to stitch a lot faster than I do if its really quiet. I really don't listen or watch anything too specific when I stitch I guess it is more background noise than anything for me.

So I rhink this was my fastest project ever..it took me about 24 hours or less. Lots of stops and starts tho..the really small size had my fingers and wrists cramping really badly. I wish I had centered it a bit better before mounting but I still think it looks good.

Depression and Stitching

I've had such a hard time lately with my stitching because of depression. Just feel so unmotivated I think a lot of it is the darker weather and how early it is starting to get dark now..would think it would be a better time to stitch tho...maybe will get motivated during CSI and Without a Trace tonight. I tend to stitch a lot more when watching T.V. or listening to music. I really want to get a Boquet for Cheryl done in time for Christmas but not sure if that will happen or not.

When you have to frog out stitches, do you reuse that thread or do youstart over with a new strand?

I don't think I've ever been able to reuse the thread because I usually frog out my stitches with a seam ripper. But I think if i was using anything than DMC I would be using my needle to frog out and be able to reuse the thread.

I think most of my design style would be in some sort of fantasy realm just for the bright colors and I think those designs are a bit more free in what you can do with them.

I havent really been in a stitching mood lately but I found a really cute series of Perforated Paper haunted houses..well I couldn't find the perforated paper anywhere near me so I ended up getting 10 ct plastic canvas to try them on..its slow going but finally getting something done on them..just wish i could get all 7 done by halloween but the way I am stitching lately there is almost no way :(

Finally I think I have gotten over my stitching slump. I really like working on this project its called A Boquet for Cheryl and its a freebie from www.inkcircles.com The whoe thing will be done in variegated floss...with the part I am doing now in pinks and oranges..the outer part will be blues and greens should look really nice together when done. It is something I am doing for my sister since she always wants something and I havent done anything for her till now.

Another change in my rotation

Well I was going to switch and work on the flower today but my parents are painting their room and not sure the color we had chosen would clash with the paint or not. So for now i'm taking the flower out of rotation and adding in Butterfly Expressions. It is a dimensions pattern and really pretty. So off I go now to work on it.

Woohoo maybe 3rd time is the charm for adding a picture lol. This is a gift I did for my parents 36th anniversary last year.

I don't have a whole lot to say so think I am going to go back to stitching on my Harley Davidson pattern. I like it alot better now that I am using 3 strands of floss instead of just 2.

Sooooo since I had to take the Brass Bookmark out of my rotation..I have decided to add in..The Wave its based off some artwork by Jim Warren..omg he is sooooo creative with a great imagination..I love a lot of his work..would love to see it all converted to cross stitch..then I can make my stash pile even bigger lol..which it may do anyhow because I saw in Nordic Needles catalog a gorgeous pattern..for I Corinthians 13 that I would love to have in my place :D..who knows....

Brass Bookmark

So for now I have to take the Brass Bookmark out of my rotation I have ran out of 2 of the colors and can't find close ones to it..so I decided to work on the Harley Davidson pattern. It was going good till I realized that the fabric was showing through when only using 2 strands..so I ripped out everything I have done and am going to redo it using 3 strands I hope this ends up covering better.

Well so far this bookmark isn't too bad I guess. It is the worst of the 8 tho lol. I got about 4 rows done last night lol I know it isn't a lot but it is some. I think next week I will be working on my Harley Davidson pattern. I like doing it but just wish there were not 90 colors lol. It takes me 5 thread boxes plus a bit more to put all the threads in lol. The reason I do that is I hate threading and unthreading needles every few stitches.

Oriental Lady & Thread Heaven

I sooo love working on this Oriental Lady she is a Janlynn kit. The fabric is great so soft..and the colors are really pretty. Going to be sad when this rotation week is over lol. So I ordered some Thread Heaven on E-Bay the other day and just got it today. Going to try it out next week I think when I start to work on my brass bookmark again. That is the most dreaded of all my current projects just because so hard to get the needle through the back to end and start threads lol so maybe Thread Heaven will help me out. Well back to stitching I go. I am about to start a new row that has a few quarter stitches in it. I normally dread those but this fabric makes it a lot easier to do.

So I had to frog both rows of my Wolf that I had gotten done. :( I was off by one stitch somewhere and it just did not look right to me :( Tomorrow I start on my 2nd rotation but not sure which one I want to do lol..i do love working on the Asian Lady tho..so will probably go to that :)

So I decided that it may be a smart idea to have 8 items in my rotation instead of just 7 to make it more even and maybe more easy for me to follow.

8. Brass Bookmark

I've decided to switch my projects in my rotaion every sunday..so for my first week I started with the wolves. I like doing this project even if it is on Black Aida which makes it a bit harder to do. Just wish I was a bit quicker of a stitcher it seems to take me forever to do one line...but on this wolf there are so many color changes it drives me nuts.

So I decided that setting up a stitching blog might help me to be a bit more motivated to finish the pieces I have started before starting more up. Also thinking about starting a rotation of some sort. I have about 6 pieces started that I would love to see finished.
